How billing works, in plain words.
What you pay, when a bill is issued, what happens if it stays unpaid, and how automatic card payments work. Every payment goes through Razorpay. We never ask for cash and never send anyone to collect.
- A notice before every automatic charge
- Card numbers never stored by MuscleX
- A GST invoice for every payment
- Never charged twice for the same bill
- Every payment through Razorpay
your subscription
From the first payment to the next one.
The same six steps apply to every paid plan.
- Step 1
You start a free trial
Paid plans begin with 7 days free. You add a card to start; nothing is charged until the trial ends. Prices are in rupees, GST is added on top, and every payment produces a GST invoice.
- Step 2
It renews unless you cancel
Each period renews on the same day of the month: a plan that started on 23 July renews on 23 August, then 23 September. We email you 7, 3 and 1 day before.
- Step 3
The renewal is paid
With automatic payments on, your saved card is charged a few hours before the renewal date, so nothing pauses. Otherwise you pay online in a minute from any phone or laptop. Either way it goes through Razorpay.
- Step 4
If a renewal is not paid
A bill is issued for the new period and the account becomes read-only until it is paid: everything stays visible and member check-ins keep working, but changes wait.
- Step 5
If bills keep going unpaid
After three billing periods in a row go unpaid, the subscription is cancelled for you and the gym moves to the Free plan. No new bills are issued, but the unpaid bills remain payable.
- Step 6
Outstanding balance
Cancelling a plan never cancels money already owed. Unpaid bills stay on your account until they are paid, and must be cleared before a paid plan can start again. If a card is saved, we keep trying it — always after a notice.
a renewal, day by day
No surprises before, during or after a charge.
What you receive around every renewal, in order.
- 7, 3 and 1 day before
Renewal reminders
An email with your plan, the amount including GST and the renewal date. Another on the day itself.
- About 3 days before
Notice of the charge
With automatic payments on, a separate notice names the exact amount, date and time, card, mandate reference and how to stop it. The RBI requires at least 24 hours; we give more.
- A few hours before
Your card is charged
At least 36 hours after the notice, and a few hours before the renewal date, so your account never pauses. Only the amount in the notice can be charged.
- Straight after
Receipt and GST invoice
An email with the transaction reference, and a numbered GST invoice you can open or download in Settings → Subscription.
- If it fails
We tell you, then retry
You get an email with the reason. We retry only after a fresh notice, at most three times on the same card for the same bill. You can pay yourself at any point.
free trial and refunds
Try it free. Get your money back if it is not for you.
Two promises on every paid plan: 7 days free before you pay anything, and 7 days after your first payment to change your mind.
7 days free on every paid plan
Pick any paid plan and use it free for 7 days. The Free plan needs no trial and no card at all.
A card to start, ₹0 today
Saving your card takes a ₹1 check that is refunded at once. We remind you before the trial ends, then charge your first month a few hours before it does.
Cancel before day 7, pay nothing
Cancel from Settings → Subscription any time during the trial and you are never charged. If the first payment does not go through, you get 3 days to pay, then the gym moves to the Free plan with no bill.
7-day money-back guarantee
Changed your mind after paying? Ask for a full refund of your first subscription payment within 7 days, straight from Settings → Subscription. The gym moves to the Free plan.
After the money-back window, payments are not refunded for unused time, including on annual plans, which run to the end of the year you paid for. Duplicate charges, billing errors and charges after a cancellation are always refunded in full. Every refund goes back to the original card or account through Razorpay, usually within 5–7 working days, with a GST credit note. The full rules are in the refund policy.
automatic payments
Automatic card payments, on the RBI’s rules.
Save a card in Settings → Subscription and bills are paid for you. How it works follows the Reserve Bank of India’s e-mandate framework for recurring payments.
Set up with your bank’s OTP
Saving a card runs a ₹1 check in Razorpay’s checkout, authorised with your bank’s OTP. The ₹1 is refunded straight away.
No card numbers on our servers
The card is tokenised through Razorpay. MuscleX never receives or stores the card number, CVV or your OTP. We only show the card network, the last four digits and the expiry, which we read from Razorpay.
Up to ₹15,000 per charge
Under the RBI framework, recurring card charges can go through without an OTP only up to ₹15,000 each. We never try to auto-charge more than that.
Notice before every charge
You get a notice at least 24 hours before each charge (ours goes out about three days before your renewal), with the amount, date and time, card, mandate reference, reason and how to stop it.
Stop it whenever you like
Skip a single charge by paying the bill yourself or switching automatic payments off — one click in Settings → Subscription. Remove the card there to withdraw the mandate; while a balance is outstanding you can replace the card but not remove it. You can always withdraw a card mandate through your card issuer too.
Confirmation after every charge
Each successful charge is followed by an email with the transaction reference and who to contact if you do not recognise it.
Failures are handled, not hidden
If a charge is declined we email you and try again, at most three times for the same bills, then stop and wait for you to pay.
Never charged twice
If you pay the bills yourself before the charge date, the automatic charge is cancelled. If a charge still goes through after the bills were paid, it is refunded automatically.
No fee for using it
Saving a card and paying automatically cost nothing extra. The bill amount is the only amount charged.
On or off — you always know what happens next
In Settings → Subscription the “Pay bills automatically” switch shows exactly what will be charged next: the amount, the date and the card. Turning it off asks you to confirm, because your bills still fall due — you then pay each one yourself, and the page tells you when the next one is due. Turning it back on takes one click.
Bills over ₹15,000 are paid online too.
An annual Pro plan is ₹24,990 plus GST. The RBI does not allow a card to be charged that much without your OTP, so we ask you to approve it yourself. That still happens online, in about a minute.
- We email you when the bill is issued, and the unpaid bill is waiting in Settings → Subscription.
- Open it on any phone or laptop, wherever you are, and pay with a card, UPI or netbanking.
- Approve the payment with your bank’s OTP. It is recorded against the bill the moment Razorpay confirms it.
- Nobody visits your gym, and you are never asked for cash, a cheque or a transfer to a personal account.
unpaid bills
If a bill isn’t paid, here is exactly what happens.
No sudden lock-outs and no deleted data — and no bill quietly disappearing either.
A bill for every renewed period
A plan that is not cancelled renews, and each new period gets its own bill, due on its first day. Cancel before the renewal date and no bill is issued.
Read-only after 3 days
If a bill is still unpaid 3 days after it is due, the account becomes read-only. Nothing is deleted: everything stays visible and member check-ins keep working.
Cancelled after 3 unpaid periods
If three billing periods in a row go unpaid, the subscription is cancelled for you and the gym moves to the Free plan. No new bills are issued after that.
What is owed stays owed
Cancelling — by you or automatically — does not cancel bills already issued. They stay on your account, shown in the app, until they are paid.
Cleared before a new plan
An outstanding balance is paid first when you choose a paid plan again; the checkout shows it as step 1. While a balance is owed a saved card can be replaced but not removed.
Think a bill is wrong? Tell us
Write to us before paying. If we agree, we reduce the bill with a credit note or waive it, and record why. We never do either automatically.
cancelling
Cancel any time. You land on the Free plan.
Cancelling stops future bills. What happens next depends on whether you are still inside a paid period.
Cancel during a paid period
You keep everything until the period you paid for ends. Then the account moves to the Free plan. No further bills are issued.
Cancel after a period has lapsed
The account moves to the Free plan straight away and no new bills are issued. Bills that were already issued before you cancelled stay payable. To avoid a bill altogether, cancel before your renewal date.
Your data stays
Cancelling never deletes members, payments or history. Upgrade again at any time and everything is where you left it.
invoices and gst
Prices plus GST, and a proper invoice every time.
Plan prices are shown before GST. GST is added at the applicable rate and shown before you pay — the total you see is the amount charged, to the paisa.
A numbered GST invoice for every payment
Each renewal, upgrade or bill you pay gets its own invoice with the billing period, subtotal, GST and total. Open or download any of them as a PDF in Settings → Subscription.
Your business details on it
Enter your billing name and GSTIN at checkout, or in your account settings, and they are printed on your invoices.
Credit notes for refunds and corrections
A refund, or a reduction we make to a bill, is documented with its own credit note that refers to the original invoice. Invoices are never edited after they are issued.
worked example
Pro, monthly, at 18% GST
- Plan price
- ₹2,499.00
- GST (18%)
- ₹449.82
- Charged
- ₹2,948.82
The invoice shows the same three lines. The GST rate applied is the one in force on the invoice date.
your payment data
Who holds what.
Payments are processed by Razorpay, which is authorised by the RBI as a payment aggregator and is PCI DSS Level 1 certified. More on personal data is in our privacy policy.
Razorpay
Saved card tokens, bank authentication, the mandate itself, and the RBI pre-debit notice for the token.
MuscleX
Your Razorpay customer ID, which saved card is your default, your bills and invoices, payment reference numbers, and the billing name, email, address and GSTIN you give us.
Never kept by us
Your card number, CVV, OTPs, UPI PIN and netbanking credentials. They go straight from your device to Razorpay and your bank.
questions
Billing questions, answered.
The ones gym owners ask us most.
Will you ever charge my card without telling me first?
No. Every automatic charge is preceded by a notice at least 24 hours before it (ours goes out about three days before your renewal), and followed by a confirmation with the transaction reference.
Do I have to save a card?
Only to start a free trial on a paid plan. After that you can pay each bill yourself with a card, UPI or netbanking, or keep the card and let bills be paid automatically.
Why was ₹1 taken when I saved my card?
That is how the card is authorised with your bank for recurring payments. The ₹1 is refunded straight away, and we keep checking with Razorpay until the refund has gone through.
Can I turn automatic payments off?
Yes, in Settings → Subscription. We ask you to confirm first, because your bills still fall due: you then pay each one yourself before its due date. You can turn it back on at any time.
What happens if my card is declined?
We email you the reason and try again after a new notice, at most three times on that card for the same bill. Adding a different card starts a fresh set of attempts. You can pay yourself at any time.
If I cancel, do I still owe unpaid bills?
Yes. Cancelling stops new bills; it does not cancel bills that were already issued. To avoid a bill completely, cancel before your renewal date.
Can I get a refund?
Your first subscription payment has a 7-day money-back guarantee, requested from Settings → Subscription. Duplicate charges and billing errors are always refunded in full. Details are in the refund policy.
Do you keep my card number?
No. The card is tokenised by Razorpay. We only ever see the card network, the last four digits and the expiry.
What happens to my gym’s data if I stop paying?
Nothing is deleted. The account becomes read-only and later moves to the Free plan, but members, payments and history stay intact.
Will anyone come to my gym to collect money?
No. Every payment is made online through Razorpay. We never ask for cash, a cheque or a transfer to a personal account.
I see a charge I don’t recognise. What do I do?
Write to musclex@infynarc.com with the transaction reference from your email or bank statement. If we charged you twice or in error, we refund it in full.
honesty
What we do not claim.
MuscleX is not a bank or a payment aggregator and holds no RBI licence of its own. The regulated part of every payment, from card storage to authentication and settlement, is done by Razorpay. This page explains how our billing uses it. It is not legal advice.
Questions, disputes or a charge you do not recognise: write to musclex@infynarc.com with the transaction reference from your email. See also the refund policy and terms of service.
